Summer, 2018

Dear Hurricane Families,

Highland Junior High School has a rich history.  From its inception, HJHS has benefitted from a faculty and staff that is completely invested in our students’ success, and we enjoy a tradition of excellence in extracurricular activities, athletics, and academics.  In fact, teachers spend countless hours preparing for their work in the classroom, and this summer is no exception. Our students are fortunate to spend each day with dedicated, caring educators.

This year promises to be full of excellence as well.  Please encourage your student to take advantage of all the opportunities!  Students can choose from many exciting clubs, including Code, Robotics, and Hurricane Heroes.  Additionally, they can try out for a sport and participate in the spring talent show. Research shows that involved students perform better in school, and we sincerely hope that your student will be part of everything HJHS offers.

As educators, we know that students also do better in school when we partner with parents. In fact, junior high students benefit from their parents’ involvement in school just as much, if not more than, elementary students.  Opportunities for your involvement include participating in our School Council meetings and on our PTRO, both of which are vital to the success of our campus.

We’re so excited for the 2018 - 2019 school year!   Stop by anytime.
