Highland Jr. High School Library

Librarian: April Lesher

Library hours: 7:30 - 3:30

Welcome to the HJHS Library!

In addition to BOOKS, our library is full of TECHNOLOGY and CREATIVITY. Our library is busy and loud; it is a place where students gather to hang out with friends, study in a soft chair, or play a quick game of chess. It is a place where students feel a deep sense of BELONGING and COMMUNITY.

I invite you to stop by and see student artwork, student-created apps, and other mind-boggling projects.

Activities in the Library:

Code Club
- Meets every Thursday @ 3:00 - Coached by Mrs. Lesher and Ms. Foley.

League of Extraordinary Writers - Meets on specific Mondays during the year - Coached by Mrs. Lesher

Chess Club - Meets every other Tuesday @ 3:00 - Coached by Mr. Hillman

Library Policies:
Library Books are checked out for a two-week loan period.

Students may check out two library books at one time.

Students will be charged for lost or damaged books. They must either replace the book or pay the cost to purchase the lost or damaged book.

Meet MAXIMUS, the Library Therapy Dog. He comes in with Mr. Ybarra, HJHS Speech Therapist, on Fridays and works with students.
